Pebbles

Yesterday we sorted pebbles with screens into large and small pebbles. We also used the screens to sort gravel into large and small gravel. The class had a great time wearing their science glasses and using their magnifying glasses to look at the characteristics of pebbles and gravel.

Science

We started our science unit last week on Pebbles, Sand and Silt. The class was classifying rocks based on the different characteristics. They were also rubbing the rocks together over white paper and black paper to see what happened. They figured out that on the black paper the rocks "wrote" in white like chalk. 

Popsicles

Last Friday we enjoyed popsicles from winning the spirit award in first grade. While we enjoyed our popsicles, the class watched this clip of Will.i.Am singing on Sesame Street (featured below)

Bingo

The class did a getting to know each other Bingo board. It had different things the kids would like and they had to get names of other students in the room for the boxes. Here they are filling in the boxes.
